Kenya (X tons), Hong Kong SAR (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main destinations of railway track fixture exports from Israel, together accounting for 48% of total exports.

Imports into Israel
After two years of growth, supplies from abroad of railway or tramway track fixtures and fittings decreased by -23.6% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 168% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2020, and then reduced sharply in the following year.
In value terms, railway track fixture imports expanded slightly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 275%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest railway track fixture supplier to Israel, accounting for a 21% share of total imports. Moreover, railway track fixture imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Spain (X tons), with a 6.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +10.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+14.5% per year) and Spain (+18.4% per year).

The average railway track fixture import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, jumping by 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 40%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the price for the UK ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
