Singapore (X units) was the main destination for shipping exports from Israel, accounting for a 69% share of total exports. Moreover, shipping exports to Singapore exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, South Korea (X units), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by China (X units), with a 6.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Singapore totaled +20.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: South Korea (0.0% per year) and China (-7.4% per year).
In value terms, Singapore ($X) remains the key foreign market for ships, vessels, ferry-boats for the transport of persons exports from Israel, comprising 52% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by South Korea, with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Singapore totaled +12.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (-0.8% per year) and South Korea (-13.3% per year).

In 2021, overseas purchases of ships, vessels, ferry-boats for the transport of persons increased by 343% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a significant curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 1,866% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, shipping imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a sharp shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 2,219% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The United States (X units), the UK (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of shipping imports to Israel, together accounting for 81% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the United States (with a CAGR of +8.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced a decline.
In value terms, the UK ($X), Germany ($X) and India ($X) appeared to be the largest shipping suppliers to Israel, with a combined 88% share of total imports. Turkey, Greece, the United States and China lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 10%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Greece (+26.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
