Soups Market Size in Israel
The Israeli soups market reduced to $X in 2021, with a decrease of -6.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the total consumption indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last nine years. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The United States (X tons) was the main destination for soups exports from Israel, with a 84% share of total exports. Moreover, soups exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, France (X tons), tenfold. The UK (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 4.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States amounted to +4.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: France (+6.2% per year) and the UK (-12.0% per year).
In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for soups and broths exports from Israel, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with an 8.8% share of total exports. It was followed by the UK, with a 4.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the United States was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: France (-1.7% per year) and the UK (-15.4% per year).

The average soups export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 1.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 6.7%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Australia ($X per ton) and South Africa ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($X per ton) and France ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Australia (-2.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Israel
In 2021, after seven years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of soups and broths, when their volume decreased by -10.6% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, showed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 54% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, soups imports shrank modestly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 57%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then contracted modestly in the following year.
Imports by Country
The Netherlands (X tons), China (X tons) and Armenia (X tons) were the main suppliers of soups imports to Israel, together comprising 33% of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, Thailand, Italy, the United States, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Japan and France, which together accounted for a further 56%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Italy (with a CAGR of +89.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 15%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Russia ($X per ton) and Poland ($X per ton), while the price for Thailand ($X per ton) and Italy ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Armenia (+12.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
