The United States (X tons) was the main destination for sweet biscuit exports from Israel, accounting for a 89% share of total exports. Moreover, sweet biscuit exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X tons), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Canada (X tons), with a 1.9% share.

In 2021, the average sweet biscuit export price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 8.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a pronounced downturn. From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Israel
In 2021, overseas purchases of sweet biscuits decreased by -1.8% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, sweet biscuit imports rose rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +10.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +139.5% against 2012 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 28%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

The Netherlands (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main suppliers of sweet biscuit imports to Israel, together comprising 40% of total imports. The Czech Republic, Belgium, Turkey, Germany, France, Ukraine, Italy, Australia, Portugal and Indonesia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 49%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for France (with a CAGR of +62.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest sweet biscuit suppliers to Israel were the Netherlands ($X), Poland ($X) and Spain ($X), with a combined 40% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the Czech Republic, Belgium, Turkey, Germany, France, Ukraine, Italy, Australia, Portugal and Indonesia, which together accounted for a further 49%.
