Exports from Israel
In 2022, exports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages from Israel reduced to X litres, dropping by -8.4% against the year before. Overall, exports, however, showed a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 145% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X litres, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, exports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages reduced to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 104% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell modestly in the following year.
Exports by Country
The United States (X litres), Hungary (X litres) and Slovenia (X litres) were the main destinations of exports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages from Israel, together accounting for 83% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovenia (with a CAGR of +210.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages exported from Israel were the United States ($X), Hungary ($X) and Slovenia ($X), with a combined 83% share of total exports.
Slovenia, with a CAGR of +194.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average export price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages stood at $X per litre in 2022, surging by 4.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 53%. Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Morocco (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Israel
In 2022, the amount of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages imported into Israel fell remarkably to X litres, waning by -25.4% on 2021. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 88% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X litres, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, imports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages contracted to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 47%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped in the following year.
Imports by Country
Russia (X litres), France (X litres) and Finland (X litres) were the main suppliers of imports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages to Israel, with a combined 57% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Mexico, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Latvia, Germany, Ukraine, the UK and the United States, which together accounted for a further 35%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Belgium (with a CAGR of +37.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages suppliers to Israel were Russia ($X), France ($X) and Mexico ($X), with a combined 55% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Finland, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Latvia, Germany, the UK, Ukraine and the United States, which together accounted for a further 36%.
Belgium, with a CAGR of +44.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average import price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages stood at $X per litre in 2022, with an increase of 26% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages decreased by -1.2% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 39%. The import price peaked at $X per litre in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
