Imports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, preserved beef imports declined notably to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded prominent growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 123%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2020, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.

Poland (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main suppliers of preserved beef imports to Italy, together accounting for 73% of total imports.
