Binocular Market Size in Italy
After two years of decline, the Italian binocular market increased by 23% to $X in 2021. Germany (X units), France (X units) and Spain (X units) were the main destinations of binocular exports from Italy, with a combined 38% share of total exports. The Netherlands, the United States, the Czech Republic, Russia, the UK, Croatia, Slovenia, Greece, Israel and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 40%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Croatia (with a CAGR of +47.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), France ($X) and the United States ($X) constituted the largest markets for binocular exported from Italy worldwide, together accounting for 41% of total exports. These countries were followed by Spain, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, the UK, Russia, Austria, Greece, Croatia, Slovenia and Israel, which together accounted for a further 40%.
Among the main countries of destination, the Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +45.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average binocular export price amounted to $X per unit, growing by 12% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +8.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, binocular export price increased by +39.5% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 48% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Israel ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+20.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Italy
In 2021, the amount of binoculars imported into Italy soared to X units, surging by 29% on the previous year's figure. Overall, total imports indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +97.2% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 60%. China (X units), the United States (X units) and Spain (X units) were the main suppliers of binocular imports to Italy, together accounting for 75% of total imports. France, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 23%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +114.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
