Germany (X tons), Switzerland (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main destinations of dicalcium phosphate exports from Italy, together comprising 59% of total exports. Taiwan (Chinese), Belgium, Spain, Austria, Albania, Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (with a CAGR of +450.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Switzerland ($X) and France ($X) were the largest markets for dicalcium phosphate exported from Italy worldwide, with a combined 60% share of total exports. Taiwan (Chinese), Spain, Belgium, Austria, Albania, Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 26%.

In 2021, the average dicalcium phosphate export price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 18% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.5%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Overall, imports continue to indicate a noticeable decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, dicalcium phosphate imports rose significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 45%. Imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Slovenia (X tons), Tunisia (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main suppliers of dicalcium phosphate imports to Italy, together comprising 79% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Spain (with a CAGR of +43.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
