In 2021, the Italian cashew nut market was finally on the rise to reach $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In value terms, cashew nut imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 562% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, the Netherlands (X tons) was the main cashew nut supplier to Italy, accounting for a 94% share of total imports. It was followed by the UK (X tons), with a 2.3% share of total imports. The third position in this ranking was taken by Spain (X tons), with a 1.9% share.
