As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, fresh beef carcase imports rose sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 14%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Poland (X tons), France (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main suppliers of fresh beef carcase imports to Italy, together accounting for 61% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Spain (with a CAGR of +8.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
