From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

France (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and Kuwait (X units) were the main destinations of lifting equipment exports from Italy, together comprising 36% of total exports. These countries were followed by the United Arab Emirates, the UK, Brazil, Turkey, Austria, Canada, Norway, Australia, Peru and China, which together accounted for a further 34%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Peru (with a CAGR of +43.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, France ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Kuwait ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for lifting equipment exported from Italy worldwide, together comprising 36% of total exports. Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, the UK, Turkey, Austria, Canada, Norway, Australia, Peru and China lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.
Peru, with a CAGR of +36.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average lifting equipment export price amounted to $X per unit, approximately reflecting the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Brazil ($X per unit) and Austria ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per unit) and the UK ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Brazil (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Italy
In 2021, the amount of lifting equipment imported into Italy declined remarkably to X units, waning by -36.3% against the year before. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 1,758%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, lifting equipment imports fell markedly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 178% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2020, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
Imports by Country
Germany (X units), Austria (X units) and Poland (X units) were the main suppliers of lifting equipment imports to Italy, together accounting for 69% of total imports. The UK, Sweden, France and Vietnam lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 21%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Vietnam (with a CAGR of +81.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), Austria ($X) and Poland ($X) constituted the largest lifting equipment suppliers to Italy, with a combined 69% share of total imports. The UK, Sweden, France and Vietnam lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 21%.

Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Sweden ($X per unit) and Austria ($X per unit), while the price for the UK ($X per unit) and France ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.
