In 2021, the Italian non-domestic dryer market increased by 45% to $X, rising for the third year in a row after two years of decline. In general, consumption, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, total exports indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -34.6% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

France (X units), the United States (X units) and Spain (X units) were the main destinations of non-domestic dryer exports from Italy, with a combined 34% share of total exports. Poland, Germany, Brazil, Russia, the UK, Belgium, Turkey, India, China and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 34%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +19.3%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Poland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, import price indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, non-domestic dryer import price increased by +70.3% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 47% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
