The average taro (cocoyam) export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 26% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a slight reduction. Imports into Italy
Taro (cocoyam) imports into Italy shrank sharply to X tons in 2022, with a decrease of -30% against 2021 figures. Overall, imports recorded a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 89%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of (cocoyam) imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, taro (cocoyam) imports declined slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, (cocoyam) imports increased by +23.3% against 2020 indices.
