The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 26% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, bromides, iodides and oxids thereof exports rose significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total exports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +64.1% against 2013 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by 31% against the previous year. In 2021, after two years of growth, there was decline in supplies from abroad of bromides and bromide oxides, iodides and iodide oxides, when their volume decreased by -4.8% to X tons. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 43% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, bromides, iodides and oxids thereof imports stood at $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 70% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Israel (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of bromides, iodides and oxids thereof to Japan, accounting for a 58% share of total imports. Moreover, bromides, iodides and oxids thereof imports from Israel exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), threefold. South Korea (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 18% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Israel stood at -4.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+28.3% per year) and South Korea (+12.1% per year).

In value terms, Israel ($X), China ($X) and South Korea ($X) constituted the largest bromides, iodides and oxids thereof suppliers to Japan, together comprising 77% of total imports.

In terms of the main suppliers, China, with a CAGR of +36.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for bromides and bromide oxides, iodides and iodide oxides stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 6.2% against the previous year.
