Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Myanmar (X units) was the main destination for agricultural product dryer exports from Japan, accounting for a 62% share of total exports. Moreover, agricultural product dryer exports to Myanmar exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, China (X units), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Sri Lanka (X units), with a 9.5% share.

These countries were followed by Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand and South Korea, which together accounted for a further 32%.

Cambodia, with a CAGR of +38.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average agricultural product dryer export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 11% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. For the fifth year in a row, Japan recorded growth in supplies from abroad of dryers for the treatment of agricultural products, which increased by 87% to X units in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 256%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, agricultural product dryer imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2021. In general, imports enjoyed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 122%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Malaysia (X units), Germany (X units) and South Korea (X units) were the main suppliers of agricultural product dryer imports to Japan, together comprising 80% of total imports. These countries were followed by Italy, the Netherlands and China, which together accounted for a further 19%.
