Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, expansible polystyrene exports rose remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 33%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

China (X tons) was the main destination for expansible polystyrene exports from Japan, accounting for a 47% share of total exports.
