Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, vulcanised rubber mats exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, showed a slight shrinkage. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The United States (X tons), Thailand (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main destinations of vulcanised rubber mats exports from Japan, with a combined 57% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Brazil, Indonesia, Taiwan (Chinese), India, Belgium, the Philippines and Australia, which together accounted for a further 33%.

Overall, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 40%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, vulcanised rubber mats imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
