As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, China (X tons) was the main supplier of glass fibre filament to Japan, with a 95% share of total imports. It was followed by South Korea (X tons), with a 1.9% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +11.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Korea (-11.2% per year) and France (-21.3% per year).
