Thailand (X tons), China (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) were the main destinations of hot-rolled bearing steel bar exports from Japan, with a combined 57% share of total exports. Taiwan (Chinese), India, Vietnam, the United States, South Korea and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 36%.

In 2022, the average hot-rolled bearing steel bar export price amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 14% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were South Korea ($X per ton) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($X per ton) and the Philippines ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 47%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
