Maize Starch Market Size in Japan

The Japanese maize starch market dropped modestly to $X in 2021, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Thailand amounted to -1.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Taiwan (Chinese) (-5.7% per year) and China (-7.6% per year).

The average maize starch export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 6.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a mild reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 147% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, maize starch imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports posted a buoyant expansion.
