As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, semi-manufactured silver exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), China (X tons) and Hong Kong SAR (X tons) were the main destinations of semi-manufactured silver exports from Japan, with a combined 48% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea and Germany, which together accounted for a further 44%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Vietnam (with a CAGR of +20.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average semi-manufactured silver export price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 24% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated tangible growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, semi-manufactured silver export price increased by +49.3% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 61% against the previous year.
