Imports into Japan
In 2021, approx. X units of starter motors and dual purpose starter generators were imported into Japan; falling by -17.1% compared with 2020. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a abrupt setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 21%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, starter motor imports rose to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a perceptible setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 39% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X.
