Syringe Market Size in Japan

After two years of growth, the Japanese syringe market decreased by -3.6% to $X in 2022. The market value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, syringe imports declined notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated mild growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 43%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted sharply in the following year.

Imports by Country

Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), Indonesia (X units) and Thailand (X units) were the main suppliers of syringe imports to Japan, with a combined 67% share of total imports. The United States, China, the Philippines and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 24%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Germany (with a CAGR of +26.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
