Iraq (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Egypt (X tons) were the main destinations of animal feed exports from Jordan, together comprising 74% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Saudi Arabia (with a CAGR of +21.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Iraq ($X), Saudi Arabia ($X) and Egypt ($X) were the largest markets for animal feed exported from Jordan worldwide, together accounting for 75% of total exports. Yemen, Bangladesh, Sudan and Qatar lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 20%.
Among the main countries of destination, Yemen, with a CAGR of +25.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average animal feed export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 11% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 63%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Iraq ($X per ton) and Saudi Arabia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Qatar ($X per ton) and Sudan ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iraq (+16.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Jordan
In 2022, supplies from abroad of animal and pet feed decreased by -25.1% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 26% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, animal feed imports reduced rapidly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 28%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then shrank sharply in the following year.

China (X tons), France (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main suppliers of animal feed imports to Jordan, with a combined 39% share of total imports. The United States, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Brazil, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Switzerland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 49%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Switzerland (with a CAGR of +47.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X), France ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) appeared to be the largest animal feed suppliers to Jordan, with a combined 39% share of total imports. The United States, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Brazil, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Switzerland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 49%.

The average animal feed import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of 7.8% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 18% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were the United States ($X per ton) and China ($X per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) and Italy ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
