Asparagus Market Size in Jordan

The UK (X kg), Bahrain (X kg) and Kuwait (X kg) were the main destinations of asparagus exports from Jordan, with a combined 98% share of total exports.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Bahrain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+47.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of asparagus, when their volume decreased by -6.9% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, showed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 7,951%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

Spain (X tons), Peru (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main suppliers of asparagus imports to Jordan, with a combined 93% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +62.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Spain ($X), Peru ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) were the largest asparagus suppliers to Jordan, with a combined 93% share of total imports.
