In value terms, athletic footwear exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 314% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Athletic footwear imports into Jordan reached X pairs in 2022, growing by 2.8% compared with the year before. Overall, imports, however, saw a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 46% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X pairs. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, athletic footwear imports dropped to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 64% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Vietnam (X pairs) constituted the largest athletic footwear supplier to Jordan, with a 65% share of total imports. Moreover, athletic footwear imports from Vietnam exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X pairs), threefold. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per pair in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Colombia ($X per pair) and Vietnam ($X per pair), while the price for Syrian Arab Republic ($X per pair) and Indonesia ($X per pair) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Colombia (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
