In value terms, Free Zones ($X), Turkey ($X) and Egypt ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for circuit breaker exported from Jordan worldwide, together accounting for 80% of total exports.

Egypt, with a CAGR of +116.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The average circuit breaker export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, rising by 8.7% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, circuit breaker export price increased by +93.5% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 40%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Free Zones ($X per unit) and Iraq ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Syrian Arab Republic ($X per unit) and Ghana ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Egypt (+37.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Jordan

In 2022, the amount of automatic circuit breakers imported into Jordan declined markedly to X units, waning by -25.4% compared with 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 50% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, circuit breaker imports declined sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a pronounced descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 59%. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Germany (X units), China (X units) and France (X units) were the main suppliers of circuit breaker imports to Jordan, together accounting for 53% of total imports. Italy, Bulgaria, India, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 36%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Malaysia (with a CAGR of +47.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and France ($X) constituted the largest circuit breaker suppliers to Jordan, with a combined 52% share of total imports. The United Arab Emirates, China, Bulgaria, India and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 30%.

In 2022, the average circuit breaker import price amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 11% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a mild decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 26%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit), while the price for India ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
