From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iraq (+16.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Jordan
In 2022, chocolate and confectionery imports into Jordan declined dramatically to X tons, falling by -17.9% on the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 20%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then declined markedly in the following year.
In value terms, chocolate and confectionery imports contracted rapidly to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 19%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

The Netherlands (X tons), Italy (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons) were the main suppliers of chocolate and confectionery imports to Jordan, with a combined 43% share of total imports. Lebanon, the UK, Egypt, Spain, Belgium, Turkey, Poland, Germany, Ghana and the United States lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 43%.
