In 2022, the Jordanian mannequin market decreased by -24.1% to $X, falling for the third year in a row after three years of growth. In 2022, shipments abroad of mannequins increased by 18% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Overall, exports, however, recorded a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 99% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, mannequin exports rose markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 134% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Free Zones (X tons) was the main destination for mannequin exports from Jordan, with a 52% share of total exports. Moreover, mannequin exports to Free Zones exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Israel (X kg), fourfold. Syrian Arab Republic (X kg) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Free Zones totaled -7.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Israel (+13.0% per year) and Syrian Arab Republic (+15.9% per year).

In value terms, Free Zones ($X) remains the key foreign market for mannequins exports from Jordan, comprising 63% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Israel ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Switzerland, with a 7.8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Free Zones totaled +3.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Israel (+18.5% per year) and Switzerland (-6.3% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average mannequin export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -10.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 75% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then dropped in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lebanon ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lebanon (+32.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas purchases of mannequins decreased by -42.2% to X tons, falling for the third consecutive year after four years of growth. In general, imports recorded a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 45% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, mannequin imports rose remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 72%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of mannequin to Jordan, with a 50% share of total imports. Moreover, mannequin imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), fourfold. Germany (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China totaled -3.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (-3.0% per year) and Germany (+1.6% per year).

In value terms, China ($X), the United States ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the largest mannequin suppliers to Jordan, together comprising 68% of total imports. Canada, India, Vietnam, the UK, South Korea, Italy and the United Arab Emirates lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 23%.

Canada, with a CAGR of +69.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The average mannequin import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 85% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a strong expansion. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+29.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
