The exports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, plastic self-adhesive plate exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 117%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Syrian Arab Republic (X tons), Iraq (X tons) and Free Zones (X tons) were the main destinations of plastic self-adhesive plate exports from Jordan, together comprising 69% of total exports. Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Sudan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 30%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Sudan (with a CAGR of +7.9%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In value terms, the largest markets for plastic self-adhesive plate exported from Jordan were Syrian Arab Republic ($X), Iraq ($X) and Free Zones ($X), together comprising 71% of total exports. Egypt, Qatar, Sudan and Saudi Arabia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 28%.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -28.5% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 29%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, plastic self-adhesive plate imports dropped rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -31.7% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 15% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest plastic self-adhesive plate supplier to Jordan, with a 63% share of total imports. Moreover, plastic self-adhesive plate imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, France (X tons), tenfold. Saudi Arabia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6.1% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China amounted to +8.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (+34.5% per year) and Saudi Arabia (+0.3% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of plastic self-adhesive plates, sheets and other flat shapes to Jordan, comprising 51% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with a 7.7% share of total imports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 7.1% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from China amounted to +7.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (+24.8% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+11.4% per year).
