Qatar (X tons) was the main destination for raspberry and blackberry exports from Jordan, with a 99% share of total exports. It was followed by Kuwait (X kg), with a 0.7% share of total exports.
From 2013 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Qatar stood at +9.9%.
In value terms, Qatar ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for raspberries and blackberries exports from Jordan, comprising 99% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kuwait ($X), with a 0.7% share of total exports.
From 2013 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Qatar totaled +17.3%.
Export Prices by Country
The average raspberry and blackberry export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -4.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 113% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kuwait ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Qatar amounted to $X per ton.
From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+56.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Jordan
For the fourth year in a row, Jordan recorded growth in purchases abroad of raspberries and blackberries, which increased by 3.4% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports saw a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 1,627%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, raspberry and blackberry imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 1,458% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Spain (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of raspberry and blackberry to Jordan, accounting for a 42% share of total imports. Moreover, raspberry and blackberry imports from Spain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Portugal (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by the Netherlands (X tons), with a 17% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Spain totaled +29.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Portugal (+9.2% per year) and the Netherlands (+26.2% per year).
In value terms, the largest raspberry and blackberry suppliers to Jordan were Spain ($X), Portugal ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), together accounting for 89% of total imports. Morocco, Peru and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 7.1%.
Morocco, with a CAGR of +61.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average raspberry and blackberry import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 21% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, raspberry and blackberry import price increased by +95.6% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 27%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
