Production of Raspberries, Blackberries, Blueberries, and Cranberries in Jordan
In value terms, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry production reduced slightly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. The total output value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the production volume increased by 11%. As a result, production reached the peak level of $X. From 2019 to 2022, production growth failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry exports shrank rapidly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 6,309% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.
Exports by Country
Qatar (X tons) was the main destination for raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry exports from Jordan, accounting for a 81% share of total exports. Moreover, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry exports to Qatar exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Free Zones (X kg), fourfold.
From 2013 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Qatar amounted to +34.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Free Zones (0.0% per year) and Kuwait (-34.8% per year).
In value terms, Qatar ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries exports from Jordan, comprising 85% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Free Zones ($X), with a 14% share of total exports.
From 2013 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Qatar stood at +44.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Free Zones (0.0% per year) and Kuwait (-24.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average export price for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries stood at $X per ton in 2022, waning by -6.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 88%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kuwait ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Free Zones ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+39.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Raspberries, Blackberries, Blueberries, and Cranberries
Imports into Jordan
In 2022, approx. X tons of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries were imported into Jordan; with a decrease of -13.5% on the year before. In general, imports, however, saw a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 1,828%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 1,562% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
Portugal (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main suppliers of raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry imports to Jordan, with a combined 94% share of total imports. Peru and Morocco lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 4.3%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Peru (with a CAGR of +62.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry suppliers to Jordan were Spain ($X), Portugal ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), with a combined 89% share of total imports. Morocco and Peru lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 7.3%.
Morocco, with a CAGR of +72.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 52% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average import price increased by 68%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Morocco ($X per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
