Russia (X kg) was the main destination for filter paper exports from Kazakhstan, accounting for a 68% share of total exports. Moreover, filter paper exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Uzbekistan (X kg), threefold. Kyrgyzstan (X kg) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 5.2% share.

Overall, imports posted a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 241% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, filter paper imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a resilient increase.
