Photographic Paper Market Size in Kazakhstan

The Kazakh photographic paper market surged to $X in 2021, growing by 46% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). Over the period under review, consumption, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. In value terms, photographic paper exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a sharp reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 220% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Kyrgyzstan (X square meters) was the main destination for photographic paper exports from Kazakhstan, with a approx. 100% share of total exports.

In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of photographic paper, paperboard and textiles, when their volume increased by 26% to X square meters. Overall, imports, however, recorded a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 190% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X square meters. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, photographic paper imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a perceptible contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 280% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

China (X square meters), Germany (X square meters) and Lithuania (X square meters) were the main suppliers of photographic paper imports to Kazakhstan, together accounting for 83% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Lithuania (with a CAGR of +20.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of photographic paper, paperboard and textiles to Kazakhstan, comprising 41% of total imports.
