Exports by Country
Kyrgyzstan (X tons) was the main destination for paddy rice exports from Kazakhstan, with a 75% share of total exports. Moreover, paddy rice exports to Kyrgyzstan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Uzbekistan (X tons), sixfold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Kyrgyzstan stood at +114.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (+59.1% per year) and Russia (+131.2% per year).
In value terms, Kyrgyzstan ($X) remains the key foreign market for paddy rice exports from Kazakhstan, comprising 77% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 17% share of total exports.

Imports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Pakistan (X tons), Russia (X tons) and India (X tons) were the main suppliers of paddy rice imports to Kazakhstan, with a combined 91% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by India (with a CAGR of +124.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Russia ($X), Pakistan ($X) and India ($X) appeared to be the largest paddy rice suppliers to Kazakhstan, with a combined 89% share of total imports. Uzbekistan, Iran and China lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 7.6%.
