Diode Market Size in Kazakhstan

In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the Kazakh diode market, when its value decreased by -26.4% to $X. Overall, consumption, however, posted a buoyant increase. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.

The exports peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, diode exports shrank rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 157% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Iran (X units) was the main destination for diode exports from Kazakhstan, accounting for a 61% share of total exports. Moreover, diode exports to Iran exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Uzbekistan (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Russia (X units), with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Iran amounted to +10.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (+64.1% per year) and Russia (+15.8% per year).

In value terms, the largest markets for diode exported from Kazakhstan were Russia ($X), Iran ($X) and Mongolia ($X), together comprising 73% of total exports.

Among the main countries of destination, Mongolia, with a CAGR of +98.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average diode export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, jumping by 31% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a noticeable reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 166%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Tajikistan ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Uzbekistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Tajikistan (+50.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, imports, however, recorded a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 175%. Imports peaked at X units in 2020, and then dropped notably in the following year.

In value terms, diode imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 99% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of diode to Kazakhstan, accounting for a 70% share of total imports. Moreover, diode imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Russia (X units), fourfold. Australia (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 2.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at +19.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Russia (+15.9% per year) and Australia (+83.9% per year).

In value terms, China ($X), Russia ($X) and India ($X) constituted the largest diode suppliers to Kazakhstan, together comprising 70% of total imports. These countries were followed by Australia, which accounted for a further 0.2%.

Among the main suppliers, Australia, with a CAGR of +75.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average diode import price amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 115% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 155%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while the price for Australia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
