Kyrgyzstan (X tons) was the main destination for preserved sweet corn exports from Kazakhstan, with a 86% share of total exports. The third position in this ranking was held by Turkmenistan (X tons), with a 3.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Kyrgyzstan amounted to +12.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (+87.2% per year) and Turkmenistan (+442.4% per year).

In 2022, the average preserved sweet corn export price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 2.3% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.0%. Imports into Kazakhstan

After two years of growth, overseas purchases of sweet corn prepared or preserved decreased by -11% to X tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded temperate growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, preserved sweet corn imports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 59%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then declined modestly in the following year.

In 2022, Russia (X tons) constituted the largest preserved sweet corn supplier to Kazakhstan, accounting for a 76% share of total imports. Moreover, preserved sweet corn imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Moldova (X tons), with a 2.1% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Russia stood at +16.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+0.5% per year) and Moldova (-4.4% per year).

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Russia amounted to +13.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+0.4% per year) and Moldova (-3.8% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the average preserved sweet corn import price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 9.5% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 20%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Moldova ($X per ton), while the price for Hungary ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
