In value terms, furnace burner exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports showed a temperate increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 921%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Tanzania (X tons), Uganda (X tons) and Rwanda (X tons) were the main destinations of furnace burner exports from Kenya, with a combined 80% share of total exports. Ethiopia, Somalia, Democratic Republic of the Congo and India lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Ethiopia (with a CAGR of +66.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 71%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average import price increased by 58% against the previous year.
