Television Receiver Market Size in Kenya

The Kenyan television receiver market rose slightly to $X in 2022, with an increase of 3.8% against the previous year. Imports into Kenya

In 2022, purchases abroad of television receivers decreased by -9.4% to X units, falling for the second consecutive year after four years of growth. In general, imports, however, saw a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 153% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, television receiver imports stood at $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 142%. Imports peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, China (X units) was the main television receiver supplier to Kenya, accounting for a 93% share of total imports. Moreover, television receiver imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Egypt (X units), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Thailand (X units), with a 2.1% share.
