The Netherlands (X litres) was the main destination for non-mineral or non-aerated water exports from Kenya, accounting for a 3.4% share of total exports. Moreover, non-mineral or non-aerated water exports to the Netherlands exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, France (X litres), fourfold. Belgium (X litres) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 0.7% share.

Non-mineral or non-aerated water imports into Kenya rose significantly to X litres in 2021, growing by 7.5% against the year before. In general, imports enjoyed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 677% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, non-mineral or non-aerated water imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 596% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
