The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Uganda (X litres) was the main destination for spirits and liqueurs exports from Kenya, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, spirits and liqueurs exports to Uganda exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Rwanda (X litres), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Tanzania (X litres), with a X% share.

Imports into Kenya
After six years of growth, supplies from abroad of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages decreased by X% to X litres in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X litres in 2021, and then fell remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, spirits and liqueurs imports declined sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank markedly in the following year.
Imports by Country
The UK (X litres), Tanzania (X litres) and Ireland (X litres) were the main suppliers of spirits and liqueurs imports to Kenya, with a combined X% share of total imports. India, the United States, France, South Africa, Mexico, Latvia and the United Arab Emirates lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Latvia (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
