In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the Kuwaiti broom, brush, and mop market, when its value decreased by -15% to $X. Overall, consumption, however, recorded a perceptible increase. Broom, brush, and mop consumption peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell sharply in the following year.

In 2022, overseas shipments of brooms, brushes, and mops decreased by -11.2% to X units, falling for the third year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when exports increased by 353%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, broom, brush, and mop exports fell to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 299% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Saudi Arabia (X units), Oman (X units) and France (X units) were the main destinations of broom, brush, and mop exports from Kuwait, together accounting for 46% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by France (with a CAGR of +165.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, France ($X), Saudi Arabia ($X) and Qatar ($X) constituted the largest markets for broom, brush, and mop exported from Kuwait worldwide, together accounting for 54% of total exports.

France, with a CAGR of +196.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average broom, brush, and mop export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by 1.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price enjoyed a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average export price increased by 155%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Iraq ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iraq (+13.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

After two years of growth, purchases abroad of brooms, brushes, and mops decreased by -15.8% to X units in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 102% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, broom, brush, and mop imports reduced to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 40% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted in the following year.

In 2022, the United Arab Emirates (X units) constituted the largest supplier of broom, brush, and mop to Kuwait, accounting for a 58% share of total imports. Moreover, broom, brush, and mop imports from the United Arab Emirates exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X units), threefold. Italy (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the United Arab Emirates stood at -3.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+11.1% per year) and Italy (+12.2% per year).

In value terms, the largest broom, brush, and mop suppliers to Kuwait were the United Arab Emirates ($X), China ($X) and Italy ($X), with a combined 71% share of total imports. Germany, Ireland and Switzerland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 6.8%.

Switzerland, with a CAGR of +32.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average broom, brush, and mop import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, rising by 1.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 100%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($X per unit), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
