Other Cereals Market Size in Kuwait

The Kuwaiti other cereals market fell to $X in 2021, with a decrease of -9.5% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 188% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then fell in the following year.

In 2021, the United States (X tons) constituted the largest other cereals supplier to Kuwait, accounting for a 52% share of total imports. Moreover, other cereals imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Pakistan (X tons), fivefold. Poland (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.7% share.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 107%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
