Electronic Chip Market Size in Kuwait

The Kuwaiti electronic chip market dropped modestly to $X in 2021, flattening at the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). France (X units), Spain (X units) and the United Arab Emirates (X units) were the main destinations of electronic chip exports from Kuwait, together comprising 58% of total exports. The United States, China, Switzerland, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Thailand (with a CAGR of +96.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for electronic chip exported from Kuwait were Spain ($X), the United States ($X) and France ($X), together accounting for 52% of total exports.

Spain, with a CAGR of +88.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average electronic chip export price stood at $X per thousand units in 2021, growing by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 81%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per thousand units), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($X per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.

After two years of growth, purchases abroad of electronic chips decreased by -31.4% to X units in 2021. Overall, imports showed a perceptible descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 110% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, electronic chip imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, the United Arab Emirates (X units) constituted the largest supplier of electronic chip to Kuwait, with a 43% share of total imports. Moreover, electronic chip imports from the United Arab Emirates exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Malaysia (X units), threefold. Vietnam (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.
