Frozen Turkey Cut Market Size in Kuwait

The Kuwaiti frozen turkey cut market fell remarkably to $X in 2022, which is down by -29.2% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). In value terms, frozen turkey cut exports expanded markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a abrupt contraction. Turkey (X tons), Liberia (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) were the main destinations of frozen turkey cut exports from Kuwait, with a combined 73% share of total exports. Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Bahrain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 27%.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 43%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Imports into Kuwait

In 2022, the amount of frozen cuts of turkey imported into Kuwait reduced rapidly to X tons, with a decrease of -18.9% on 2021 figures. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 110% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, frozen turkey cut imports fell rapidly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 145% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then fell markedly in the following year.

In 2022, Turkey (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of frozen turkey cut to Kuwait, with a 59% share of total imports. Moreover, frozen turkey cut imports from Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Oman (X tons), threefold.
