Saudi Arabia (X tons) was the main destination for homogenised jam and marmalade exports from Kuwait, accounting for a 87% share of total exports. Moreover, homogenised jam and marmalade exports to Saudi Arabia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Oman (X tons), sevenfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Saudi Arabia amounted to +24.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Oman (+32.6% per year) and Qatar (-30.3% per year).
In value terms, Oman ($X) remains the key foreign market for homogenised preparations of jams, fruit jellies and marmalades exports from Kuwait, comprising 89% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Saudi Arabia ($X), with an 8.4% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Oman stood at +38.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Saudi Arabia (-9.8% per year) and Qatar (-21.7% per year).

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (+12.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Homogenised Preparations Of Jams, Fruit Jellies And Marmalades
Imports into Kuwait
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of homogenised preparations of jams, fruit jellies and marmalades decreased by -22.8% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted tangible growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 56% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then fell significantly in the following year.
In value terms, homogenised jam and marmalade imports contracted rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 54%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Egypt (X tons) constituted the largest homogenised jam and marmalade supplier to Kuwait, accounting for a 42% share of total imports. Moreover, homogenised jam and marmalade imports from Egypt exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Spain (X tons), threefold. Thailand (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Egypt stood at +8.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (+9.3% per year) and Thailand (-2.4% per year).
In value terms, Egypt ($X), Jordan ($X) and Spain ($X) were the largest homogenised jam and marmalade suppliers to Kuwait, with a combined 63% share of total imports. Thailand, Poland, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 28%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +61.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average homogenised jam and marmalade import price amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 6.9% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 34%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Jordan ($X per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
