Paper Label Market Size in Kuwait

The Kuwaiti paper label market dropped rapidly to $X in 2021, waning by -15.4% against the previous year. In general, the total consumption indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.5% over the last nine-year period. Over the period under review, exports posted strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 502% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

In value terms, paper label exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports recorded a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 959% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

The United Arab Emirates (X tons), Bahrain (X tons) and Qatar (X tons) were the main destinations of paper label exports from Kuwait, with a combined 86% share of total exports.

In 2021, purchases abroad of labels of paper or paperboard decreased by -10.9% to X tons, falling for the fifth consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -37.7% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 63%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Overall, total imports indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -35.6% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 49% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, the United Arab Emirates (X tons) constituted the largest paper label supplier to Kuwait, with a 63% share of total imports. Moreover, paper label imports from the United Arab Emirates exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Italy (X tons), with a 3.5% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the United Arab Emirates was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (-6.2% per year) and Italy (-6.4% per year).

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constituted the largest supplier of labels of paper or paperboard to Kuwait, comprising 53% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by the United States, with a 10% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from the United Arab Emirates amounted to -2.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+1.0% per year) and the United States (-7.9% per year).

In 2021, the average paper label import price amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -15.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 14% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
