Imports into Kuwait
Natural polymers imports into Kuwait rose sharply to X tons in 2021, growing by 11% on 2020 figures. In general, imports showed buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 111%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, natural polymers imports expanded significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 99.9%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest natural polymers supplier to Kuwait, with a 76% share of total imports. Moreover, natural polymers imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United Arab Emirates (X tons), sevenfold. The United States (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6.3% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China amounted to +4.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+55.2% per year) and the United States (+30.7% per year).
