In value terms, non-domestic dryer exports reduced rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 437% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2020, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.

The United Arab Emirates (X units) was the main destination for non-domestic dryer exports from Kuwait, with a 54% share of total exports. Moreover, non-domestic dryer exports to the United Arab Emirates exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Oman (X units), twofold.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to the United Arab Emirates amounted to -1.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Oman (+25.7% per year) and Qatar (+34.3% per year).

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for non-domestic dryers exports from Kuwait, comprising 66% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Oman ($X), with a 20% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the United Arab Emirates stood at +2.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Oman (+26.2% per year) and Qatar (+40.0% per year).

The average non-domestic dryer export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, declining by -4.7% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated tangible growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, non-domestic dryer export price decreased by -5.7% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 26%. From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Kuwait

In 2021, imports of non-domestic dryers into Kuwait shrank markedly to X units, which is down by -34% on the previous year. In general, imports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 993%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then dropped markedly in the following year.

In value terms, non-domestic dryer imports dropped markedly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 653%. Imports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Italy (X units) constituted the largest non-domestic dryer supplier to Kuwait, with a 39% share of total imports. Moreover, non-domestic dryer imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X units), twofold. The UK (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 10% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Italy totaled +71.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+40.9% per year) and the UK (+48.6% per year).

In value terms, the largest non-domestic dryer suppliers to Kuwait were Italy ($X), the United States ($X) and the UK ($X), with a combined 59% share of total imports.

In terms of the main suppliers, Italy, with a CAGR of +50.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average non-domestic dryer import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, shrinking by -4.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 50%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per unit), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (-1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
