Cement Pipe Market Size in Kuwait

The Kuwaiti cement pipe market amounted to $X in 2022, remaining stable against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, continues to indicate a noticeable slump. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, cement pipe exports declined remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted tangible growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 2,269%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Bahrain (X tons) was the main destination for cement pipe exports from Kuwait, accounting for a 65% share of total exports. Moreover, cement pipe exports to Bahrain exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Iraq (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Jordan (X tons), with a 5.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Bahrain amounted to +11.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Iraq (-15.7% per year) and Jordan (+53.0% per year).

In value terms, Bahrain ($X) remains the key foreign market for pipes and other articles of cement exports from Kuwait, comprising 85% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Iraq ($X), with a 6.7% share of total exports. It was followed by Qatar, with a 5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Bahrain amounted to +24.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Iraq (-19.8% per year) and Qatar (+16.2% per year).

In 2022, the average cement pipe export price amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -13.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 102% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

In general, imports continue to indicate buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 314% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, cement pipe imports expanded markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 288%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Saudi Arabia (X tons), China (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) were the main suppliers of cement pipe imports to Kuwait, with a combined 78% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Vietnam (with a CAGR of +105.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
